Tilak Singh Pela gets awarded with Pipal Chautari Gajal Samman- 2080

Senior musician and singer Tilak Singh Pela has been awarded with Pipal Chautari Gajal Samman- 2080 by Southwest Sahitya Samaj, Basundhara, Kathmandu during a ghazal recitation program, Peepal Chautari Ghazal Sanjh-2080 on Friday. Pela was awarded as an encouragement and acknowledgement for his contribution to bring Nepali music in a new height. In the program, popular ghazalist, Dr. Pradeep Mainali was also awarded with the same title for his contribution for promoting Nepali ghazals, art and literature.

The program was conducted at the Peepal Chautari adjacent to Southwest State College in the presence of about a hundred people. Among them,Thirty-six ghazalists recited their ghazals in the program. Chaired by the Chairperson of the sahitya samaj, Rajendra Prasad Lamichhae, the program was grand with the glorious presence of various distinguished personalities present as guests including senior and popular ghazalists through the country, media house, and ghazal lovers. The Chief Guest of the program was senior literary figure and former Chief Secretary of Nepal Government, Dr. Bhojraj Ghimire, and the special guests were senior ghazalist, Ram Bahadur Pahadi and the Campus Chief of the college, Dr. Rajendra KC. In the program, senior musicial and singer, Tilak Singh Pela, and popular ghazalist, Dr. Pradeep Mainali were awarded with Pipal Chautari Gajal Samman- 2080.

The chief guest of the program, Dr. Ghimire, expressed the opinion that ghazal has added fragrance to the beauty of Nepali literature and promoting it to the global literary community. He claimed that ghazal is deeply rooted in the hearts of the Nepali people, and is gradually getting popular among the global community.

In the program senior ghazalist, Ram Bahadur Pahadi, Ravi Pranjal, Tilak Singh Pela, Dr. Pradeep Mainali, Siddhi Narayan Acharya, Prabha Bhattarai Acharya, HK Lamichhane, Renuka Bhandari, Durgakiran Tiwari, Bidur Adhikari “Devdoot”, Prakash Sapkota, Ghanendra Ojha, Radha Kandel, Anjan Yatri, Udas Karki, Bhagyashali Adhikari, Uttam Bichar, Vibhuns Paudel, Aachal Kumar Sharma, Dipesh Ghimire, Binod Bimbit, Sagar Kafle, Manandhar Abhagi, and many more recited their ghazals.

Rajendra Prasad Lamichhane, the President of Southwestern Sahitya Samaj, stressed for promotion of Nepali literature through various such creative approaches. The Sahitya Samaj has been organizing poetry, ghazals recitation programs frequently to promote art and literature.
