Southwestern State College in joint collaboration with the Norwegian Scientific Research Institute organized an international summit titled “Innovative Investment and Finance Projects in Nepal” in Kathmandu on September 13, 2017 with a view to focus on innovative management of investment and finance in contribution in creative development in Nepal.
In this connection, Prof Dr Jan Urban Sandal from Norway spoke at length about global trends on social entrepreneurship and its increasing need in Nepal who has also conducted Diploma course on Social Entrepreneur – IBS for 10 days in the premises of Southwestern State College (SWSC). This college is the host for all technical related skills training in Nepal on behalf of the Norwegian scientific institute since 2015.
This is the second international summit organized by Southwestern State College in co operation with Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal Institute, wherein two scientific research-based working papers on different themes were presented namely Project finance in Hydropower sector in Nepal, Reviewing investment environment in Nepal in reference to South Asian Countries for SMEs, growth and sustainability.
Southwestern State College has been able to start social entrepreneurship course for the interested professionals here in Nepal who wants to be an entrepreneur and develop technical skills with innovative ideas. International Summit on Emerging issue in Social Entrepreneurship – IBS 2017 aims at bringing together researchers, innovators, tech works, doctoral students and practitioners to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and researches results about all aspects of Innovation in business and strategy, and discuss the practical challenges encountered as well as the solutions adopted.
At the event, Norwegian Prof Dr Jan Urban Sandal who is a high global academician of big repute suggested that this type of course will create an environment for upcoming entrepreneurs in Nepal and help in addressing development needs of people.
Similarly, Vice – Principal of SWSC Hari Singh K. C. also stressed for technical education for the students after the completion of basic education to be fit in the job market and start new enterprises. Chairman of SWSC Engineer Basu Dev Bista spoke about the importance of social entrepreneurship in career development which is also a key to improve the socio-economic development. Ms. Sarita Shakya – Pradhan, Coordinator at SWSC International Relations Division coordinated, conducted and facilitated the summit.
The summit was attended by people who are engaged in different fields. At the function participants were given certificates and Diploma for participating 10 days course on social entrepreneur, IBS in Southwestern State College premises.
